Bikes For Kids of Northern Indiana - Annual Bike Giveaway Events!

Bikes for Kids, Inc. (BFK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting outdoor physical activity by providing free new bicycles and helmets to children in need. We provide bikes and helmets to 2nd graders at poverty or ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) levels.  Our mission is to encourage kids to step away from screens, get outside, and experience the joy of riding.

Since 2019, we have donated thousands of bikes to low-income children across Marshall, St. Joseph, and Starke counties in Northern Indiana.

1) April 4th, 2026 - 10:00am to 12:00 noon EST - Plymouth High School, #1 Big Red Drive, Plymouth, Indiana

Participating Schools:
a) Plymouth Community Schools
b) Culver Community Schools
c) Argos Community Schools
d) Triton Community Schools
e) Bremen Community Schools
f) Grace Baptist Christian School
g) St. Michaels Catholic School

2) May 1st, 2026 - 3:30pm to 5:30pm CST - Knox High School) - $1 Redskin Trail, Knox, IN 46534

Participating Schools:
a) Knox Community Schools
b) Oregon-Davis Schools
c) North Judson/San Pierre Schools

3) John Glenn Schools - Students will be contacted individually and bike/helmet delivery will be per the school systems schedule.

3) North Liberty Schools

4) South Bend, Mishawaka and PHM Schools - Students will be contacted by the school districts and dates are pending. 
 
* Qualified students must bring a Certificate of Eligibility that can be obtained by their local school districts. 

There are 2 ways you can support these events: 

1) Purchase a new kid's bike and helmet.  Starting at $110.00, you can help make BFK a reality.  Choose one or more kids to sponsor.  Just purchase a bike from our online store and we'll buy it (or a similar model based on availability) at a pre-negotiated price.  We'll make sure the bike is assembled properly and delivered to a deserving child at our bike giveaways.   A cash donation is also available in the store. 
2)  Help us at the events.  We have events in various locations throughout Northern Indiana.  We need assistance with transportation, organization, food preparation, etc.   These are the most important days of the year for BFK, and it would simply be impossible without our volunteers and community members like you. 

All donations to Bikes for Kids, Inc. are tax deductible.  

Bikes For Kids, Inc., assumes no liability for accidents or physical injury to the rider after receiving a bike.  We highly recommend wearing a bicycle helmet for personal safety when riding.
