Bikes For Kids 6th Annual Bike Giveaway - 2025!

Bikes For Kids, Inc. plans to provide 500+ new bicycles to Northern Indiana kids in 2025.  

Bikes For Kids, Inc., is a Northern Indiana based 501(C)3 non-profit organization, geared toward helping kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need.   

We are holding two giveaway events this year:

Event #1 - Plymouth High School.  The event will be held starting at 10:00am EST, Saturday, April 19th, 2025, at the Plymouth High School, Entrance #5, located at 1 Big Red Drive, Plymouth, Indiana.  Blissville Church in Plymouth will provide lunch.  We will be providing new bikes and helmets to all qualified* 2nd grade children.  Area schools, including Plymouth, Culver, John Glenn, Triton, Bremen, Argos, Union-North, Oregon-Davis and area Christian Schools, will provide children with a form in advance that they can bring to the event.

Event #2 - Knox High School.  The event will be held starting at 10:00am CST, Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at the Knox High School, located at 1 Redskin Trail, Knox, Indiana. Starke County Resource Center will provide lunch.   We will be providing new bikes and helmets to all qualified* 2nd grade children.  Area schools, including Knox and North Judson, will provide children with a form in advance that they can bring to the event.

Event Rules:

1) Children must be present to receive a bicycle, no exceptions!

2) Parents or guardians must sign a waver and release of liability form at the event.  

3) Bikes will be given away on a first come first serve basis.  Be sure to arrive early as we will run out. We cannot take orders for bikes after the event.  

* Qualified children are those who are currently: 1) Living below poverty level or, 2) Are at a ALICE level (Asset limited, income constrained, employed).   We rely on our school system partners to alert familes of these children that they qualify for our free bike and helmet program.  Also, home schooled children that can provide a SNAP or EBT (or similar) card, also qualify for a new bike and helmet.  
  
There are 2 ways you can support these events: 

1) Purchase a new kid's bike and helmet.  Starting at $100.00, you can help make BFK a reality.  Choose one or more kids to sponsor this year.  Just purchase a bike from our online store and we'll buy it (or a similar model based on availability) at a pre-negotiated price.  We'll make sure the bike is assembled properly and delivered to a deserving child at our bike giveaway.   A cash donation is also available in the store. 
2)  Help us at the event.  We need assistance with transportation, organization, food preparation, etc.   These are the most important days of the year for BFK, and it would simply be impossible without our volunteers and community members like you. 

All donations to Bikes for Kids, Inc. are tax deductible.  

Bikes For Kids, Inc., assumes no liability for accidents or physical injury to the rider after receiving a bike.  We highly recommend wearing a bicycle helmet for personal safety when riding.
